The Bayfield Ratepayers Association (BRA) worked with Ausable Bayfield Conservation in 2008 to establish a water quality monitoring program in the lower Bayfield watershed, which included two sites within the Trick's Creek watershed.
This program continued in 2009 and resulted in the recommendation of a community-based watershed planning project to protect and enhance Trick's Creek.
A background document was completed to highlight the natural features of this watershed and summarize existing water quality data.
Meanwhile, the BRA and Ausable Bayfield Conservation continue to look for additional funding that would support this project.
Residents and community groups in Trick's Creek and area are encouraged to contact staff about best practices and projects at home and work to protect and improve water quality here.
