Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority

Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program

Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority, along with Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, delivered more than $1 million in grants to landowners, on behalf of the Province of Ontario, for local property owners' drinking water source protection projects in the Ausable Bayfield and Maitland Valley watersheds, through the Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program (ODWSP), between 2008 and 2014.

This program reduced risk to sources of municipal drinking water by completing water-quality protection projects near municipal wells and intakes.Projects included well decommissioning and upgrading; septic system inspections and upgrades; runoff and erosion protection; pollution prevention reviews; and more.

Consult the 2014 Annual Report and visitwww.sourcewaterinfo.on.ca for more information.

Thanks to all the landowners who completed projects and reduced risk to our local drinking water.
